Love is in the Air

I recently saw the movie Valentine's Day(2010). Which is about various individuals and their quest for love on the most romantic of holidays. Or, better put by Q101's afternoon host, Electra...a movie about a lot of "pretty people" & their struggle with the pressures of Valentine's day. Now, I, for one, am not a fan of the actual "holiday" itself. However, I thought the movie was cute, predictable, and sappy...all the best qualities in a true Chick Flick. Although I was able to predict 9 out of 10 outcomes in the movie, I thought that it was fun to watch. There were so many big names in this movie, yet none of the characters were a stretch, but it was nice to have so many actors with familiar faces in one movie.
Opening this week: Sex and the City 2! I can't wait to see what's in store for Carrie and the girls in this installment of SATC. [& Aidan is back!!!]

The cutest animated movie since Wall-E:

How To Train Your Dragon. The story of a young Viking boy, Hiccup, who just wants to live up to his father's living legend status of the greatest dragon slayer of their time. Hiccup befriends a dragon and learns how to communicate with him and the other dragons and finds a new way to coexist with them rather than kill them. I thought this film was terrifically done. All of the actors did a great job with the voices & the animation was great. I saw this movie in 2D & I'm sure it would have been worth the extra money for 3D - and I am not a big fan of 3D movies. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone.

Rotten or Fresh?

I do not have a review to post today because I have been spending the majority of my time watching One Tree Hill and studying for my finals rather than watching new movies. But, I did recently create an account on Rotten Tomatoes. To view my profile go to www.rottentomatoes.com/member/smarieg .

Coming out this week: Iron Man 2. [Review coming soon!]
